The Puppet Theater in Ashgabad, Turkmenistan was planned with the objectives of exhibiting the puppet tradition and sustaining it for the future generations to come. The puppet tradition, adopted by both children and adults,had been inherited from ancient times in Turkmenistan. This Puppet Theater , which was built with a total enclosed area of 8,000 m2, houses two theater halls with capacities of 200 and 350. Stage mechanics and audio and lighting systems, which are products of the latest tecnology in compliance with international standards, were used in the project. Orchestra pits, platforms that elevate and drop, and automatically controlled stage curtains and decors are just some of the additional items in the theater’s system. In addition to the theater halls, the building also contains rehearsal rooms, puppet and decor workshops, dressing and make-up rooms for the artist, administrative offices, and translation rooms.
